It is located in the Southwest slope of the Metropolitan Park of Santiago, next to the main access of this, in 450 Pio Nono Street. It attends to the public from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 18:00 hours during the summer and until the 17:00 in winter season. It has, by purpose, the recreation and education of its visitors, respect to the native and exotic fauna through information in the place (signaling) and activities developed by the Educative Extensive Unit of our Zoo (exhibitions, samples, seminaries, talks, etc.) In a parallel way, conservation programs of species and scientific research are developed with the intention of interchanging knowledge with other Zoos of the world and transferring these experiences to all our visitors. Within its main attractions we can mention a great AVIARY of internal circulation, a well-known room of projections like ZOO CINEMA, an AMPHITHEATRE where live exhibitions are made, and new enclosures, like the PINGUINARY, the CHIMPANZEE HOUSE and  the sector for the ZEBRAS. Soon new projects will be constructed, like the new enclosure for WHITE TIGERS, the sector of AMAZONÍA, and the new enclosure for Elephants... the National Zoo is changing, we invited you to discover it.
