RISKS POLICY

PFor The Metropolitan Park of Santiago the implementation of a System of Risk Management will have a strategic character, therefore its development will be under the direct and periodic supervision of the superiority of the Service, which assumes the commitment to manage the risks referred to the institutional work, particularly to the execution of the diverse institutional processes and to the administration of the financial resources, physical and human resources, as a practice that helps to avoid the materialization of the risks or to minimize the negative impact that it could present when it happens, as also to check in a constant way the functioning of the System of Risk Management. 

Our Process of Risk Management will take a Preventive and Pro-active approach, therefore it will tend to: the existence of a controlled environment of risk management that, defined by the Metropolitan Park of Santiago, establishes corporate strategies and a structure of suitable supervision that guarantees its operability; the definition and documentation of the exhibition to the risk along the processes and business lines; the quantification of the impact and probability of occurrence for each of the identified risks; a reasonable administration of the risks detected across actions, such as: to avoid, to share, to reduce, to transfer or to agree, and the evaluation and permanent follow-up of events that eventually generate prejudices to the entity.


The Metropolitan Park of Santiago will develop and execute a risk policy aligned with the Mission, Strategic Aims and Quality Assurance policy.

The Metropolitan Park of Santiago will take the necessary measurements to face the own challenges that involves to implement a process of risk management, so it will support the firm decision to support and hold up the "cultural change" which it takes to this new approach, that the Risk Management is integrated to all the processes and the make of decisions, therefore will have to share the information and this is put at the disposal of all their members;  that there are implemented " methodologies of evaluation of risk ",  Qualitative and / or quantitative; and that a " plan of training is designed and implemented on risk management " to all the levels of the institution and that there implements a " model of information of management " which, at least, must be capable of generating information of the evolution of the risks and the efficiency of the structure of the controls.

In the frame of the process of Risk Management, the Risk Committee, under the direct supervision of the Top Chief of the Service, will use the methodology of the Council of Audit and will prioritize the processes and sub processes depending on the relative importance of each one of them in the fulfillment of the institutional mission and strategic aims, then to be administered, using someone of the following strategies: To avoid, to share, to reduce or to accept the risks.

The Metropolitan Park of Santiago also promises to approve the Strategy for the Treatment of the Risks of the prioritized processes, previous review and acceptance of the justification of its selection.

The present policies on risk management will be applicable to all the operations that the Metropolitan Park of Santiago realizes (of business and support), these are of processes, sub processes, stages or activities, and it will come into force at the moment of its approval by the Direction.

The risk management policy, the strategy of treatment of the risks and the institutional risk matrix will be spread to all the civil servants.
