The Friends' Corporation of the Metropolitan Park of Santiago is an unprofitable entity, which aim is to support the development of the Park tending to promote the aims and activities of the institution as Public Service, with support of the private sector. Across this corporation there are canalized all the contributions and projects that the private sector wants to realize to improve this place which is in service of all Chilean people. The current Directory of this Corporation is constituted by: Mr. Luis Alberto Simián - President Mr. Ramon Valdivieso - Vice-president Mr. Alfredo Silva – Secretary Mr. Manuel Lira Infante - Treasurer Mr. Jaime Gibson - Director Mr. Ramon Del Piano - Director Any Institution or individual, who wants to support or raise some initiative in the Park, can do it directly communicating to telephone: 7301300. Some important projects made concrete with the valuable support of the Corporation: 1.-Construction of several enclosures for animals of the National Zoo. (Crocodiles, Giraffes, etc.) 2.- Contracting workers in the program Pro-Employment. 3.-Collaboration in projects of conservation of native fauna. 4.-Creation of the Educational Unit of the Park. 5.-Financing street furniture in different sectors of the Park. 6.-Project of forestation of the quarry Sheraton. 7.-Campaign for the acquisition of four specimens of giraffes and two polar bears. 8.-Participation in the development and directory of the Center of Environmental Education Forest Santiago.
